Goal is to collect signs, traces of some popular vision of the United States on French territory. These signs, often perennial, are distributed throughout France. They are sometimes visible, sometimes merely implied. Whether they are the translation of a simple hobby, linked to a commercial activity, or to town planning, they all contribute, in their own ways, to the emergence of an idyllic, almost obsolete, and often caricatured vision of the USA.
This road trip helps reveal some oddities in the landscape. It is ultimately a non-exhaustive inventory of signs chosen for their relevance and poetic dimension.
Each of these photographs, through a pictorial richness in details, may be seen as a projection space for the spectator, a place of questioning on his fantasy of "America".
